A visible record of what you counted
ClickCount is a browser-based manual counting and markup tool for PDFs and images. Open a document, organize items into colored categories and place numbered markers where you count.
What it does
The workspace combines a visual tally with a marked-up document. It supports images and multi-page PDFs, category visibility and locking, marker adjustments and browser-local saving. Export an annotated PDF or PNG, a CSV count summary or an editable JSON backup.
The original uploaded file stays unchanged. Markers use positions in the original document, and annotated exports retain the source page dimensions. There is no signup requirement for the current counting tool.
What a count means
Each marker is an item that you chose to count. ClickCount does not recognize objects automatically, measure quantities from drawings or verify that you found every item. Review the source and your category choices before relying on a total. The tool can assist a review; it does not replace professional judgment.
Private documents, local workflow
Documents and saved project data remain in your browser rather than being uploaded to ClickCount servers. Ordinary site requests and a limited first-party product event stream are separate from those documents. See the privacy notice for the details and your data controls.
Learn the workflow
The counting guide explains categories, marker review, export choices, backups and troubleshooting. Start by uploading the photo or PDF you want to count.
Privacy
Loading measurement settings. If unavailable, Google measurement stays off.
Your documents and website data
ClickCount processes PDFs and images in your browser. This notice explains what stays on your device and what is sent when you use the website.
Notice for the current release, prepared October 2026. Google Ads measurement uses server-side IP-country classification. In the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland it stays off until you choose Allow analytics. In other verified countries it can start without a popup, unless you previously declined or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. For an unknown country it stays off without a popup. Google Analytics 4 is configured for the same regional measurement rules. Publisher advertisements are not enabled.
Documents, markers and notes
The file picker reads a file from your device. ClickCount does not upload the document contents to its servers. The browser renders the image or PDF and creates downloads locally. No file contents, filenames, category names, marker coordinates, notes, page dimensions or document metadata are included in ClickCount's product measurement events.
The current project is saved in browser storage so it can be reopened. It can include the original file, its name, page dimensions, category names and colors, marker positions and notes. ClickCount uses IndexedDB for saved projects and can read older projects previously stored in localStorage. This information is accessible to this browser profile; avoid leaving private projects saved on a shared device.
Your controls
- Download a JSON project backup to retain an editable copy independently of browser storage.
- Use Clear data and confirm to delete the saved ClickCount project and source document from this browser. Close another ClickCount tab if it is preventing the operation from completing.
- Use your browser's site-data controls to clear all data for ClickCount, including preferences and measurement identifiers.
Clear data removes project data, not your original file or files you have already downloaded. A JSON backup contains the original document and project notes. Protect it as you would the original file. Clearing browser data cannot erase a backup you shared with someone else.
Website delivery and measurement
Loading the site sends ordinary website requests to the server. The server handles connection and request information, such as an IP address, request path and browser information, to deliver the site and operate its web logs. These delivery logs are separate from the document processing in your browser. Do not put confidential information into website links or their query parameters.
ClickCount also sends a small set of product events to its own server: page views, upload-button use, real document opens, the first real marker, export format, upload errors and the optional Helpful or Not yet feedback choice. Events use fixed action names and a random tab-session identifier in sessionStorage. They do not use analytics cookies. Approved campaign labels identify a referral channel; arbitrary campaign values are discarded. The dedicated event log excludes IP addresses, browser user agents, referrers and document information.
The random session identifier groups actions in one tab session. It is not an account or a name. Clear data targets projects; use browser site-data controls if you also want to clear preferences or identifiers. Current site text uses system fonts and does not request an external font service.
Google services and advertising
For EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland visitors, no Google measurement script or request loads before opt-in. Other verified-country visitors may receive the standard Google tag without a popup; unknown countries and recognized privacy opt-out signals keep it off. The standard tag measures visits and successful document opens for Google Ads. Google may use cookies and advertising click identifiers (gclid, gbraid or wbraid), IP addresses, browser and device information. ClickCount retains accepted click identifiers temporarily in memory before measurement is enabled; arbitrary link parameters are not sent by our events. Ad personalization is disabled in our tag configuration. There are no publisher ads or AdSense requests.
Use the Google measurement settings on the About page to decline or withdraw permission. Withdrawal removes accessible Google measurement cookies and reloads the page to stop the loaded script; this cannot retract information already received by Google. Google explains its use of data on partner sites. Your explicit choice is stored in localStorage and can also be reset through browser site-data controls. Automatic measurement in a verified country is not saved as explicit consent. Country classification uses the connection IP on ClickCount’s own server; an unknown or unavailable lookup disables Google. IP geolocation may be inaccurate, including when using a VPN. No visitor IP is sent to a separate geolocation service. IP Geolocation by DB-IP uses a local Country Lite database licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Our measurement events do not include documents, filenames, project IDs, marker positions, categories or notes. However, the standard Google script runs with this website’s privileges when measurement is enabled and can technically access its browser storage, including saved projects. Event field filtering does not isolate those projects from third-party code. Decline measurement in Google measurement settings on About if this access is unsuitable for your documents. No publisher script is currently loaded.
Limits of local storage
Browser-local processing does not protect against access by another person using your unlocked device, browser extensions with appropriate permissions, malware or other software on your device. The saved project is not a server account or a cloud backup. Keep private source files and backups under your own access controls.
